
Sikhism was started by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Nanak Dev ji was the founder of Sikhism.
The first identity of a Sikh is that he believes in one God, Who dwells within all, Which is present everywhere. Sikhs can be both women and men, Anyone can become a Sikh. If a Sikh is a man, his name is followed by Singh and a Sikh woman's name is followed by Kaur. This is the second identity of a Sikh.
- Five Kakaar/ Sikh Dress
Sikh dress is also one of his identities. The Sikh wears five (Kakaar).
In Sikhism, Kakaars are very important because it is a blessing of the tenth Guru Sahib of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Khalsa Panth was founded by Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the day of Baisakhi on 14th April 1699 and from that time till today it is mandatory for anyone who takes Amrit to wear this Kakkar.
Sikhs always wear turbans on their heads and the kirpan worn by Sikhs is used for their own protection or for the protection of others. If a Sikh's dress is not in accordance with Gurbani, then he is not considered a complete Sikh. If you see a person who wearing Sikh dress and he drunk alcohol or to do any other kind of intoxicant, do not make the mistake of considering him a Sikh, because according to the Sikh religion, according to Sikh etiquette, a Sikh is forbidden to do any kind of intoxication.
